Stock market
Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Capital Goods and Software & Computer Servicessectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Opera Software ASA(OL:OPERA), which rose 2.82% or 1.50 points to trade at 54.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) added 1.79% or 0.1 points to end at 8.6 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) was up 1.38% or 1.90 points to 139.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 3.33% or 0.5 points to trade at 13.1 at the close. TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) declined 2.60% or 3.8 points to end at 142.5 and Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) was down 2.28% or 0.69 points to 29.61.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 86 to 78 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.33% or 0.5 to 13.1.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.62% or 1.51 to $43.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.70% or 1.63 to hit $45.68 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.55 to trade at $1353.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.62% to 9.1845, while USD/NOK fell 0.60% to 8.2256.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.66.
