Stock market
Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.62% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 2.09% or 0.80 points to trade at 39.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.80% or 0.10 points to end at 5.66 and Asseco PolandSA (WA:ACPP) was up 1.72% or 0.94 points to 55.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 2.55% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.19 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.94% or 0.060 points to end at 3.030 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was down 1.61% or 0.49 points to 29.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 290 to 241 and 185 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 4.20% or 1.75 to $43.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 4.25% or 1.87 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.85 to trade at $1353.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.14% to 4.2595, while USD/PLN fell 0.05% to 3.8140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.64.
